The move to Cincinnati is a big one. Whether you’re moving from out of state, or just across the river from Kentucky, it’s an exciting time in your life. And moving companies in Cincinnati want to help you make the most of it. There’s a lot to love about this city, but we know there are some things that can be a bit confusing—we’ve been there. We wanted to make sure you had everything you need to get settled in, so we created a list of 10 essential things to do after moving to Cincinnati.

1 Get out and meet people as this is one of the most essential things to do after moving

Your first few weeks in town are going to be tough, so try to get out there and explore as much as possible. What’s the best place for breakfast? Where can you find the best burger? What’s the closest coffee shop with free Wi-Fi? Also, it might be a good idea to find out what the locals know about your new city. You will want to get up to speed on what’s going on in Cincy. Whether you are moving there for work, a change of scenery, or just because you love the idea of living in a place where people say “yinz” instead of “you guys,”. Commercial movers Cincinnati advise you to get out there and meet new people. The city has a big community of transplants who are excited about their new city and looking for new people to share their enthusiasm with.

2 Find an awesome place for your first meal together as a family

When you move to a new city you must find out some great places to have a meal. Movers Batavia OH recommend you try Cincinnati-style chili at Skyline Chili. Best with cheese, onions, and mustard, or Gold Star Chili (just chili). You can’t go wrong either way! What is more, there are many local breweries in Cincinnati that you may want to check out. There are tons of breweries in Cincy. Including Rhinegeist Brewery, Urban Artifact Brewing Company, MadTree Brewing Company, Blank Slate Brewing Company, Braxton Brewery, etc.

3 Get a library card and start reading

Cincinnati has some amazing libraries that offer tons of programming and resources for new residents. They are also great places to go if you need a quiet place to study. Or a place where you can work on your laptop without feeling self-conscious about it (we know how hard that can be).

4 Check out Cincinnati’s art scene

If you are an art lover then you must check out the Cincinnati Art Museum and see what inspires you. Cincinnati is home to many museums, including Art Works (an art museum) and the Cincinnati Museum Center (which houses three different museums). You can also catch local events like the Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival or an independent film festival at various venues around town.

5 Do not forget to visit Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, as well as Krohn Conservatory

From the majesty of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden to the serenity of Eden Park, there are so many great things to see. If you’re looking for something that’s a little out of the ordinary, check out Krohn Conservatory. This beautiful greenhouse is filled with plants from around the world and offers a unique experience unlike any other in Cincinnati. If all these places seem amazing to you, do not hesitate and contact long-distance movers Cincinnati. They will be more than happy to relocate you to this amazing city.

6 Rent or buy a car

Cincinnati is a huge city so think about renting or buying a car. You will definitely need one if you live outside Downtown. It’s not walkable from most neighborhoods without one! But don’t worry—it’s easy to rent one from your phone. There are many apps today you can use to easily rent a car. Just download the app and follow our instructions for using it for the first time! What is more, you can ask Strong-Ass Movers for some recommendations. They will be happy to help you out.

7 Visit other places around the city

Take a day trip to Newport on the Levee in Newport, KY—it’s just 20 minutes away! Take a trip to Newport on the Levee for some shopping, dining, and entertainment options galore! The newly-renovated casino is pretty cool too!

8 Watch sports games or play sports

Go see the Reds play at Great American Ball Park or watch an FC Cincinnati game at Nippert Stadium. Both are fantastic experiences that will leave you wanting more! After using Cincinnati moving services you should also go bowling. You can do it at Northside Lanes, Fountain Square Bowl, or The Game Room (and buy yourself some delicious local ice cream afterward).

9 Visit Cincinnati Findlay Market and Washington Park

If you’re looking to experience Cincinnati’s history, we recommend taking a trip to Findlay Market. There are tons of different restaurants there offering all kinds of amazing food. It’s a historic marketplace that has been around since 1855. There are over 100 vendors selling everything from fresh produce to artisan cheese and meat products. You can get lunch there, too! They have great food options in the market itself and also nearby at other restaurants.

Also, if you’re looking for a fun night out with friends, check out Washington Park. It has tons of bars and restaurants right on the street. It’s where people can go out with friends and listen to bands perform live music while they eat delicious food together.

10 Explore different neighborhoods

Also, take some time to explore different neighborhoods. We love Over-the-Rhine and Pendleton Heights because they have a lot of history and character. But there are also some great areas like Hyde Park and Oakley where you’ll find beautiful homes and lots of green space.

As you can see there are many things to do in Cincinnati. Some of those are essential things to do after moving and some depend on your preference. Still, there is no doubt that you will enjoy this lovely place.
